Superficial, just for sex, full of morons: these are just some of the critiques levelled at dating apps. I met my boyfriend on a dating app and I am not alone: there are thousands of us, loved-up thanks to a single swipe. I first saw my now boyfriend on Tinder : rugby kit, gorgeous dreadlocks. Friends are hopeless sometimes. We now live together and have a crazy amount of weird connections and mutual friends — we had probably been at the same parties but never met.
I had strict swiping rules: tattoos — swipe left. Selfies — swipe left. Shirtless selfies — swipe left as fast as possible. I wanted to date people with a good sense of humor, so I looked for guys with a description or pictures that made me giggle. I came across a guy who was extremely cute, looked like he was a ton of fun and seemed genuine… little did I know I was swiping right on my future husband.

7 Unreasonably adorable online dating success stories
These days, we hear far less about online dating succes stories than we do about misogynistic trolls on Tinder or OKCupid catfishing. This is either because it’s impossible to meet anyone online that isn’t a fire-breathing psycho, or because sensational negativity just gets more clicks. I’m inclined to go with the latter, because if my social circle is any indication, people meet a lot of decent folks on the interwebs. That’s not to say online dating doesn’t come with a particularly unique set of pitfalls that we’re all still learning to navigate as a culture, but IRL dating is not any easier.

Online dating I see online dating constantly being touted as a necessity to those of us having a hard time meeting people. After a countless amount of time on tinder, pof and paid services like match, i have yet to have any kind of success. After 6 months on match i got 1 number and no dates. Ive gotten much more response on tinder but again nothing ever seems to take off.
It got me wondering. Are these services really aimed at my age group? For the amount of time spent and minimal success it just doesnt seem like it. I live in a small town but near a bigger town with a college and university. Is there any real success stories from online dating services on here? Include age group and whether youre in a city, small town, etc please. In about 12 months matches.
I never message first, that just never seems to work.
